Soon thereafter, he became a Christian in 1990 at Berkland Baptist Church (from which KCBC was started). Since then, he has sought to grow in his personal relationship with Christ and share His love with others. Pastor Ken has a keen interest in apologetics, and loves to discuss the rationality of faith in God and His amazing love! After marrying Esther in 1995, they have been serving together and they are currently the campus directors for Cal State Long Beach. He currently attends Gateway Seminary where he is pursuing a Master of Theological studies. Also, as a business professor at Pepperdine where he teaches courses in mathematical modeling, Pastor Ken especially has a heart for students. Warren and Alison Choi

Pastor Warren began his spiritual journey in 1990 at Berkland Baptist Church (from which KCBC was started) while attending UC Berkeley. Soon after graduating as a Computer Science major, he and Alison got married. In 2001, they went to Moscow, Russia, as missionaries. After the tragic events of 9/11, they were convicted to return to help plant Berkland Baptist Church in Washington, D.C (now, Worthy Life Baptist Church) where they grew deeper in understanding of the Word of God, church and missions. In 2014, God led them back to the mission field and they served in Myanmar, Turkey, Republic of Georgia and Armenia. They recently returned to the states and joined the KCBC family where they are serving as part of the Cal State Long Beach ministry. Also, Alison serves as director of our JOYLand children's ministry. They both enjoy music, games and sports, and especially love to eat as they are foodies at heart! Pastor Warren and Alison have a daughter Elizabeth and a son Nathanael.

Joshua and Betsy Lim

Youth Directors

With the word of God, Joshua and Betsy love to help our youth navigate through these formative and often difficult time of their lives. Their constant prayer is for the salvation of each of our youth and for them to live out their faith and stand firm. As Joshua immigrated from Sao Paulo, Brazil to California when he was fourteen, he knows what it's like to struggle as a junior high and high school student. That much more, he always has a listening ear and huge heart for our youth. Joshua accepted Jesus Christ as a youth in Brazil and found his spiritual home at KCBC (formerly Berkland Baptist Church) when he was a college student at UC Irvine. He graduated in 1997 with a degree in Biological Sciences and recently started a masters program at Gateway Seminary. Betsy was a founding member of our sister church in Washington, DC. and currently works as a financial controller. Joshua and Betsy were married in 2009 and have been serving in youth ministry for over six years. They love playing board games, taking trips and enjoying fun activities with our youth (some say even more than the kids!). They have two young children, Jonathan and Lydia and live in Cypress.
